September 15, 2016 – East Kootenay Invasive Species Council 2016 Field Tour

Our friends at East Kootenay Invasive Species Council would like to invite you to their 2016 Field Tour. This is an opportunity to celebrate the success that comes from the determination and collaborative effort of EKISC and their partners. It is a guided field tour designed to highlight key areas of accomplishment in the Columbia Basin and tell the stories of hope and inspiration in fighting the spread of invasive species in our region.

Between 9:00 am and 4:15 pm on Sept 15, 2016 the staff from EKISC invite you to join them on their bus tour as they head north toward Radium Hot Springs.

They will have guest speakers along the tour at each stop speaking about the significance and history of the specific area, impacts of invasive species on it, and the hope for the future. Some of the topics included in the tour are:

  • Early Detection/Rapid Response (EDRR) species;
  • Aquatic invasive species – their impact and how we monitor
  • Collaborations efforts on conservation properties

Tickets for the Field Tour are $20.00; this includes lunch, snacks, and bus transportation. For more information, or to RSVP, please contact info@ekisc.com or call 1-888-553-5472.
