September 8, 2019 – 26th Annual Garlic Festival

CKISS will be at Garlic Festival once again with an outreach booth with lots of valuable resources for gardeners, water enthusiasts and homeowners. In addition we will have fun kids items  including stickers, tattoos, zebra and quagga mussel display and a few bullfrog specimens.  Annual Hills Garlic Festival is held the Sunday following Labour Day.  This year, the Festival will take place on September 8th at Centennial Park in New Denver, BC.  Come find our booth!

With the theme Homemade – Homegrown – Organic, more than 160 vendors will be selling bulk garlic, braided garlic, seed garlic,  garlic powder, garlic syrup, pickled garlic, garlic dips, and garlic snacks; fresh organic produce; plants and plant products; local crafts of jewelry, glass, wood, furniture, pottery, textiles, metal, and stones; soaps, lotions, and herbal remedies; and lots of great food, including Thai, Mexican, Asian, BBQ, hamburgers and hot dogs, baking, chocolates, ice cream, and  other delicious snacks.

The Hills Garlic Festival has been recognized as one of the ten best Garlic Festivals. Many vendors tell us this is their favorite event of the craft fair/festival season. With our commitment to a Zero Waste Event, we are a leader in the festival industry and are always striving for improvement.

Live music and family entertainment all day on two stages.  Contests provide the opportunity to win for heaviest garlic clove, largest garlic bulb, prettiest braid or wreath, and best garlic themed poem. Win a basket of sample goods donated by our vendors by purchasing raffle tickets from the Hills Recreation Society.

Visit the Hills Recreation Society booth next to the main stage to get information, purchase raffle tickets, or purchase special souvenirs commemorating the 25th annual Garlic Festival.

Walk, ride the shuttle bus, pedal your bicycle, paddle your kayak…however you get there, we look forward to seeing you at this unique community event for the whole family!
