Salmo Streamkeepers Mud Wrestles Yellow Flag Iris at Erie Lake

The Central Kootenay Invasive Plant Committee would like to thank the Salmo Streamkeepers for spending 2 afternoon/evenings controlling yellow flag iris at Erie Lake this summer. The group spent 90 person hours controlling this notorious plant and pulled out over 3 pickup truck loads.

This group of amazing volunteers has been spending many years controlling yellow flag iris along the banks of Erie Lake, with little to no recognition for their efforts. To support the work of this group, the CKIPC has provided them with a $250.00 stipend that will support the ongoing work of the Salmo Streamkeepers.

Thank you for all of your wonderful work!
