Family Fishing Day 2025- CKISS Outreach Booth: June 15

Join us at Family Fishing Day with @yourbcparks for a fun, free event; perfect for families, new anglers, and outdoor enthusiasts! There’ll be loaner fishing rods, a BBQ lunch, prizes, and interactive booths from local organizations.

Family Fishing Day at Champion Lakes Provincial Park
Saturday, June 15 | 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Main Beach Day Use Area, Third Champion Lake

CKISS will be there with an info booth focused on protecting our waters from invasive species.
With whirling disease recently detected in Kootenay Lake, it’s more important than ever for boaters and anglers to take action. We’ll share updates on the recommended decontamination protocols and how to follow the Clean, Drain, Dry steps properly.

Whether you’re casting a line or just stopping by, swing past the CKISS booth to learn how you can help protect BC’s fisheries for future generations.

CKISS gratefully acknowledges the financial support of the Fish & Wildlife Compensation Program for its contribution to the Whirling Disease Prevention and Monitoring. www.fwcp.ca
