Join CKISS for a Communities Pulling Together (CPT) Event in Blewett!
Help protect local ecosystems by lending a hand at our next Communities Pulling Together (CPT) event! We’re heading to Blewett, just outside Nelson, to tackle a patch of invasive common tansy, a plant that reduces biodiversity and disrupts native ecosystems.
CPT events are a great way to take direct action against invasive species while learning about their impacts on our environment and economy. Volunteers get hands-on experience with plant ecology, safe removal methods, and proper disposal techniques, all while making a positive impact in their community.
Event Details:
- Date: Wednesday, July 3, 2024
- Time: 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
- Location: 4100 block Kays Road, Blewett (look for the red barns in the middle of the section; parking available in the driveway leading to the barns)
What to Bring: CKISS will provide gloves and tools, but if you have a garden fork, please bring it—it works like a charm on tansy!
No pre-registration required—just show up and dig in!
Thank you to the Regional District of Central Kootenay, Columbia Basin Trust and Government of BC for supporting our Communities Pulling Together Program.
