The next Broom Bash event is scheduled for Saturday, August 16 from 10 am to 12:30pm (2.5 hours). CKISS is partnering with the residents and community members from the Golf Course & Recreation Commission to tackle a Scotch broom infestation in the course. Anyone is welcome to join in!

Location: Balfour Disc Golf Course parking lot, off of Charles St Road before Balfour Community Park & Playing Courts
What you will be doing: CKISS staff will run a short workshop on Scotch broom best management practices. After the learning session volunteers will use loppers to cut Scotch broom.
What to Bring:
– Water bottle & snacks
– Sturdy shoes for walking
– Gloves – (we can provide if needed)
– Some tools will be provided, but if you have a good pair of large clipper and/or a hand saw please bring them along.
– Dress for weather conditions – event will happen rain or shine
