CKISS is proud to announce that we are now a certified Living Wage BC Employer!
What does this mean?
A living wage is the hourly rate a worker needs to earn to cover basic expenses in their community: including housing, food, transportation, childcare, and other essentials. It reflects the real cost of living in our region, not just the provincial minimum wage.
As a Living Wage Employer, CKISS is committed to paying all staff at or above the calculated living wage for our region.

Paying a living wage reflects our organizational values and supports the wellbeing and retention of the skilled professionals who protect our ecosystems. It also strengthens our long-term capacity for effective invasive species management in the Central Kootenays.
