Know what you grow! The horticulture industry has been identified as a pathway for invasive plant introduction.

Saturday June 8th, 2018 – CKISS Outreach booth @ Georama Growers

Gardens are a beautiful refuge however if invasive species are planted or unmanaged they can quickly spread from your property to your neighbors’ and natural areas. Horticulture has been identified as one of the main human pathways that causes the spread and introduction of invasive species. To help you have an invasive free garden CKISS will be at Georama Growers this Saturday June 8th from 1 pm-4 pm with free PlantWise and GrowMeInstead resources.

 Location

Georama Growers Garden Centre is located approximately 5 kilometers west of historic Nelson on Granite Road. If coming from Nelson take the first left off Highway 3A just out side of town onto Granite Road. Follow Granite Road past the Blewett Road turn off and watch for the blue Georama Road signs. Turn right onto Georama Road and watch for their big yellow sign – you can’t miss it. If you are coming from Castlegar you must go past the Taghum Shell Station until you cross the Taghum Bridge over Kootenay River. Turn right onto Granite Road as you come off the bridge deck. Just follow the blue signs as you come up the hill. Turn left onto Georama Road and watch for our big yellow sign – you can’t miss it!
