CKISS will once again have an outreach booth at the 18th Annual Nelson Garden Festival hosted by the West Kootenay Eco Society happening on Saturday, May 11th, 2019, 10-3 pm, 200 block of Baker Street and Kootenay Street in downtown Nelson. We will be promoting the PlantWise program , we encourage you to stop by and pick up some FREE resources from us. Make your garden invasive free this year! #BCinvasivesmonth 
GardenFest was started by three avid local gardeners in 2002 with just a few tables set out on Hall St. It has now grown into one the annual market highlights with over 50 vendors and community groups on hand with perennials, annuals, vegetable starts, trees and flowers – just about everything a gardener needs to get started or add to an already great gardening endeavor. There will be many of the regular vendors who are GardenFest staples as well as new vendors from across the area bringing plenty of variety to the market. GardenFest is always held on Mother’s Day weekend so if you want to get something lovely and special for mom don’t miss this market. You can also get gardening tips and planting information from the on hand vendors as many of them are long time Kootenay growers and gardeners who know all about how to cultivate in this particular region and weather conditions.
