Join CKISS, the Nelson Running Club and on Tuesday, May 12 from 4-8PM for a special Communities Pulling Together event at one of Nelson’s most iconic outdoor destinations: Pulpit Rock! Whether you’re a hiker, runner, walker, or simply a nature lover, this event is for anyone who wants to protect and preserve the trails they love.
Now in its fourth consecutive year, this community-powered stewardship event brings together passionate locals to remove invasive plants that threaten the Pulpit Rock ecosystem.
We will continue to work close the trail head as well as head further up the trail to a meadow near the flagpole to tackle a persistent patch of invasive knapweed and St. John’s wort. These species can quickly take over native vegetation, reducing biodiversity and changing the landscape of this beloved trail.
🧤 Bring a friend, lace up your boots, and get ready to snip, pull, dig, and bag alongside like-minded folks. Whether you can stay for the full event or just swing by for a bit, every bit helps!
